UTE, Iowa— Nancy Ann Pohlman, 37, of Ute died Monday, April 7, 1997, at her parents residence in rural Ute.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at United Methodist Church in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Don Frizzell and the Rev. David Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery at Soldier, Iowa.

Visitation will be after 2. p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Ms. Pohlman was born April 24, 1959, in Ottawa, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Hazel (Chedester) Pohlman. She graduated from Charter Oak-Ute Community School in 1977, the Iowa State University in 1981 and the University of Idaho in 1984, with a Juris Doctor degree.. While in law school, she worked in the law library at the university.

She was admitted to the bar in Idaho in 1985 and in Washington in 1987. She lived and worked in Coeur D Alene, Idaho, and Spokane, Wash. from 1985 to 1995, when she retired, because of cancer.

During her professional legal career, she was active in volunteer legal services, serving as president of the board of directors of Idaho Legal Aid Services Inc. in 1995. She was a 10-year member of the organization, working primarily with families and women's support groups.

She was a member of the MC United Methodist Church and the Methodist Youth Fellowship and was active in 4-H. She enjoyed music, reading and collecting art.

Survivors include her parents of Ute; a sister and her husband, Connie and George King of Onawa; three brothers and their wives, Harold and Lissa of Sioux Falls, Gary and Judy of Soldier and John and Lynette of Ames, Iowa; three nieces; and three nephews.
