Mr. John Edwin Price was born October 20, 1876, at Whiting to Franklin and Rachel Hess Price.

At the age of 5 years, he became an orphan and was raise by his grandparents at Pacific Junction, Iowa.

He grew to manhood in the Whiting vicinity. At the age of 22 years he was united in marriage with Lillian May Adair of Decatur, Nebraska, on April 5, 1898, at Tekamah, Nebr. Mrs. Price passed away February 1, 1952, at Onawa. There were 13 children born to this union, two died in infancy.

In 1916 he accepted the Christ as his Savior and was baptized by C. R. Moore, becoming a member of the First Christian Church of Onawa.

He leaves to mourn; 11 children, Elmer F. Price of Scotts Bluffs, Nebr., Clarence E. Price of Sioux City, Ia., Marvin J. Price of Council Bluffs, Ia., Garnet L. Price of Omaha, Nebr., Eddie A. Price of Council Bluffs, Paul C. Price of Council Bluffs, Arthur S. Price of Council Bluffs, Rachel A. Johnson of O'Neal, Nebr., Muriel V. Ryken of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., Virginia P. England of Fort Worth, Tex., Harriett M. Monica of Omaha, Nebr.; also one sister, Viola E. Mapes of Seattle, Wash.; a nephew, Leonard Malone of Liberty, Missouri; along with a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Mr. Price passed away July 28, 1958, at Iowa City, at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 8 days. He became ill just one month ago to date.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Everett Epperson of the First Christian church officiating at the service. Mrs. Orland Ferris saig "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Carl Linden.

Casket bearers were Arthur, Paul, Eddie Garnet, Marvin and Clarence Price, all sons of Mr. Price.

Interment was in the Harrison cemetery at Whiting. Pearson Funeral Home in charge.
