William Hohenstein 1858 - 1938

William Hohenstein, 80, of 3083 Myrtle, died Friday morning in a hospital here.

Born in February, 1858, in Glochen, Germany, Mr. Hohenstein came to the United States when he was 24 and located first in Onawa, Ia. He married Johanna Lightwald in 1886. In Sioux City, Mr. Hohenstein lived with a daughter, Mrs. Phil Hanson.

Surviving, besides Mrs. Hanson, are two other daughters, Mrs. J. J. Chabek, Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. H. J. Roberts, Idaho Falls, Id.; three sons, Robert, Alta, Ia., William, Jr., Jackson, Neb., and Fred, Cleveland, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The body is in the Rutledge mortuary.

WILLIAM HOHENSTEIN
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p. m. in the First Christian church at Onawa, Ia., for William Hohenstein, 80, of 3083 Myrtle, who died Friday in a hospital here. Rev. G. A. Matthaidess of Sioux City will officiate. Burial will be at Onawa. The body will be taken to Onawa from the Rutledge mortuary Monday noon.
