Onawa Man Taken Ill Here Over a Year Ago Expires

Azariah Kindall, 83, retired Onawa lawyer who became ill while passing through Sioux City 18 months ago, died Monday in the home of a friend, 1422 Pierce, where he had lived during a considerable part of his illness.

Mr. Kindall had left his Onawa home and was preparing to go with his wife to California when he became ill here. He was taken first to a local hotel, then to his friend's home, where he had been since.

He was born at Council Bluffs, August 21, 1854.

After living at Clarinda, Ia., for a short time, he moved to Onawa in 1884 and for 50 years practiced law there.

Mr. Kindall was a member of Vesper lodge, A. P. and A. M. the Royal Arch Masons at Mapleton, Ia., Columbian commandery, Knights Templar and Abu Bekr Shrine.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Cora Kindall; a son, Joseph W. Kindall of Bellingham, Wash.; 1 daughter, Mrs. Hortence A. Macdonald of Chicago; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The body is in the Nelson-Berger funeral home.
