Mildred Irene Andrews, 92, Moorhead, Iowa died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa, Iowa.

Mildred was born May 30, 1908 in Willow Township near Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Lena (Evenson) Melby. She married Richard Andrews and the couple farmed near Moorhead. Mr. Andrews died July 7, 1982.

She was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church.

Survivors include five sons and their wives, Howard and Deloris of Brush, CO, Bernard of Council Bluffs, Darrell and Beverly, Glen and Emogene, and Robert all of Moorhead; three daughters and their husbands, Dorothy and Lyle Babe of Oklahoma City, OK, Janice and Art Massie and Carol Michael all of Council Bluffs; twenty-three grandchildren; forty great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold and his wife, Vesta Melby of Soldier and Dale Melby of Woodbine; three sisters, Lorraine Price and Agnes Weber both of Dunlap and Edna Hull of Moorhead.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, Leonard and Willard and a sister, Gilma Burson Kline.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2001 at Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor John Eilers officiating. Organ selections "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were provided by Debra Lauritsen. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead, Iowa.

Visitation was at the Chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Casket bearers were Vernon, Chip and Jeff Andrews, David Michael, Randy Massie and Larry Moore.

Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa.
