Abram Anderson, resident of Monona county for the last 70 years, died in his home southwest of Onawa Wednesday afternoon after short illness.

He was born in Warren county, Iowa, December 15, 1863 to John and Jane Anderson and moved to Monona county in a covered wagon at the age of 4 years with his mother, father and 4 sisters. They settled on a homestead southwest of Whiting.

He bought his first farm and moved to near Blencoe in 1900, living there until 21 years ago, when he moved to his home near Onawa. He married Arminta Page, September 15, 1896.

He is survived by his widow; 4 sons, Lloyd, Archie, Glenn and Donald; 4 daughters, Mrs. K. A. Long and Bessie, both of Onawa, Mrs. Oscar Bellville of Mondamin, Ia. and Mrs. Leo Jensen of Verndale, Minn. and 6 grandchildren.

He had been a member of the Methodist church all his life. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday with the McVay funeral home of Whiting in charge.
