25 April 2014SIOUX CITY | James "Jim" Lowell Jenkins, 61, of Sioux City died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery, rural Whiting, Iowa.
James Lowell was born on March 11, 1953, in Onawa, the son of Lowell and Norma (Wagner) Jenkins. He grew up in Onawa and graduated from Onawa High School. Jim worked in bread production at Metz Baking Company in Sioux City.
Jim was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed reading, traveling, and more recently visiting with fellow residents at Northern Hills Retirement Community. He loved spending time with his family and grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Kristine (David) Meiske of South Sioux City; grandson, Sean Meiske of South Sioux City; two sisters, Bonnie (Larry) LaBrune of Smithland, Iowa, and Becky (Terry) Pierce of Onawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Norma Jenkins; and a brother, Jerry Jenkins.
