SIOUX CITY | Robert Lee Pratt, 78, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at a Sioux City Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Whitfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kris Frank officiating. There will be military graveside honors at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Belvidere Township Cemetery at Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Robert was born on Dec. 29, 1935, in Moorhead, Iowa, to Earl D. and Edith (Schoff) Pratt. He graduated from East Monona High School in Moorhead. He joined the U.S. Army in 1958 and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1960.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Anderson on June 2, 1963, at the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, Iowa. He worked as an automobile and truck mechanic until his retirement on April 16, 1999.

Robert enjoyed all types of sports, especially playing golf. He was the founder of Siouxland Youth Athletics and was recently inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. He also dedicated his time to other organizations being a Cub Scout Leader and was very involved with the Civil Defense in his younger years.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon Pratt of Sioux City; two sons, Jeff (Terri) Pratt of Onawa, Iowa, and Chris (Bev) Pratt of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Megan and fiance, Mitch Meyer, Taylor, Brianna and Brice Pratt; brother, Earl D. Pratt of Sioux City; and sister, Charlotte Edwards of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Boyd and Jack; and two sisters, Patsy Wetzel and Margaret Nielson
