SERVICES HELD FOR JOSEPHINE NELLIE (DOROTHY) RILEY MARCH 29

Josephine Nellie Riley, daughter of William Green and Mary Ann (Booher) Dorothy,was born July 31, 1881 at Ute, Iowa, and died at an Onawa Hospital Monday, March 26, 1973. She had reached the age of 91 years, 7 months and 26 days.

On December 24, 1900 she was united to Charles David Riley at Ute. They moved to Castana in 1914, Mr. Riley died in 1939. Mrs. Riley resided at Castana until four years ago when she moved to the Moss Nursing Home at Onawa. She was a member of the Christian Church at Ute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include one son, Charles of Castana; one grandson Michael Riley of Castana; two granddaughters, Mrs. Dennis (Claudia) Nichols of Onawa and Mrs. Duane (Patricia) Simmons of Sickleville, New Jersey and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 29, 1973 at 10:30 a.m. at he Pearson Funeral Chapel at Onawa. Rev. Everett Epperson officiated and burial was in St. Clair Cemetery at Ute.

Pallbearers were: Kenneth Parr, Elvin Hansen, Kermit Parr, Ronnie Burke, Dale Means and Ed. Anderson.
