9 April 2014Keith Donald "Hammy" Hamman, 54, of Onawa, Iowa died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his father's residence.
Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Castana Community Church in Castana, Iowa, with Pastor Harvey Hanson, officiating. Burial will be in the Kennebec Cemetery, Castana, Iowa. Military Honors will be provided by Grimsley Thayer American Legion Post #502 of Castana, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Keith Donald "Hammy" was born on September 4, 1959 in Pisgah, Iowa the son of Vincent and Joy (Poole) Hamman. He was raised in the Onawa and Moorhead areas, where he attended schools at West Monona Community Schools and East Monona Community Schools. He served in the United States Navy from 1981 – 1985.
Keith and Catherine Davis were united in marriage on May 19, 1986. One son was born to this union, Myron Lynn Hamman.
He was employed by the City of Castana and also as a mechanic and operator of heavy equipment by Dave Archer and Larry Clark.
Survivors include his son, Myron Lynn (Geneva Dobbs) Hamman of Summers, Arkansas; his parents, Vincent Hamman & Gloria Maxwell of Onawa, IA, and Joy Hamman of Dunlap, IA; his brother, Eugene Hamman of Castana, IA; two step-sisters, Carla Burmeister of Hastings, NE and Jodi Samuelson of Onawa, IA; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
