Irene M. Keitges, 78, of Sioux City died Monday, June 18, 2001, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 7:30 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Schleisman officiating. Private graveside services will be in Onawa City Cemetery, On-awa, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Keitges was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Moran) St. Onge. She was raised in Jefferson, S.D., and attended school in Jefferson.

She married Francis J. "Tony" Keitges on Feb. 6, 1941, in Sioux City. The couple had lived in Onawa.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, and P.E.O. Chapter DH. While living in Onawa, she was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Rosary Society and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling. She was a volunteer with Hospice of Siouxland.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Tom of Onawa, and Jim and his wife, Myrna of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Dr. Fred Rizk of Sioux City, and Mary and Duane Dudley of Highland, Calif.; a brother, Edward St. Onge of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; a sister, Bernadette Benjamin of Phoenix, Ariz.; and six grandchildren, Anthony and Christopher Keitges, David and Ann Rizk and Michael and Laura Dudley.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Bud.

Pallbearers will be Tom, Jim, Tony and Chris Keitges and Fred and Ann Rizk.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
