28 March 2014CASTANA, Iowa | Corinne Kay Anderson, 60, of Castana died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Castana Community Church, with the Rev. Harvey Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Corinne Kay was born on Feb. 22, 1954, in Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Leta (James) Belt. She attended school in New York until junior high, at which time she moved to Blencoe, Iowa, with her family and attended West Monona Community School.
Corinne Kay Belt and Roger William Anderson Sr. were united in marriage in 1971. Five children were born to this union. She worked at the Onawa Country Club and Burke’s Grocery Store in Castana while raising her family. After her children were raised, she aided seniors in their homes with cooking and cleaning. She recently moved back to this area from California and was currently living with her daughter, Amy, in Denison, Iowa.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and many friends. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles. She was a very helpful and giving individual. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Roger William "Billy" (Tess) Anderson, Jr. of California, Amy (Joe) McManigal of Denison, Wesley (Jennifer) Anderson of Alpena, S.D. and, Shelie Anderson of Hornick, Iowa; grandchildren, Andrew Anderson, Jared Anderson, Joseph McManigal, Michael McManigal, Alexis Anderson, Tayton Anderson, Zachary Hudson, Blythe Anderson, Matthew Anderson, and Emma Anderson; brothers and sisters, Russell Belt of Florida, Patricia (Dennis) Anderson of Colorado, Lorna Lynn of Arizona, Helen Mutford of Nashville, Tenn., and Ethel Stockman of Yucca Valley, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leta Belt; grandmother, Bobbi "Matilda" James; son, Justin Anderson; brother, John Belt; and an infant brother.
