DEATH CLAIMS NONAGENARIAN

Hans J. Olson, Whiting, Expires in Onawa Hospital

Whiting, Ia.—Special: Hans J. Olson, 91, a resident here for more than 60 years, died Thursday at an Onawa hospital where he had been confined for treatment of burns suffered six weeks ago when his clothing caught fire.

His wife died a month ago while Mr. Olson was in the hospital.

Mr. Olson was born at Strandebarn Hardanger, Norway, August 3, 1854. He had been a farmer and railroad man before his retirement. He was a charter member of the Whiting Odd Fellows lodge and at one time was state lecturer for the organization. He was a member of the Lutheran church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Borsheim of Whiting, and a son, Bert, of Carlbad, Cal., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at the Whiting Methodist church. Rev. Nels Pteus and Rev. T. A. Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in the Whiting cemetery, under direction of the Pearson funeral home of Onawa.
