Services held in Omaha for Donna B. Olson

Donna B. Olson, age 71 of Omaha, NE passed away August 9, 2007.

Services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 13 at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn, NE.

Donna was born April 23, 1936 at Montevideo, MN, the first born child to Clayton and Sylvia Toftness. When she was in the 6th grade the family moved to Mapleton where she completed school graduating in the class of 1954. She was actively involved in all school and sports activities. Swimming was her favorite sport and Lake Okoboji was her love. She was a Red Cross swimming instructor summers during high school and college. Teaching was her passion and after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa she taught fifth graders, her chosen age group.

Donna married Russ Olson August 11, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa. They were the parents of four boys and lived a very active and busy life to little league, church and golf, Donna took it all in her stride. Always at the side of her husband, she often traveled across America with him in his work. They could always find a new golf course and explore new cuisine. Later she was a partner in two family owned businesses. She touched a lot of people in her life and everyone who knew her loved her.

When her life on this earth drew to a close she met her death with the same grace and dignity she had lived.

In addition to her husband of 51 years, she is survived by sons, Bill and Linda, Joe and Debbie, Kurt, and Steve, grandchildren, Alex, Eric, Nicole and Tyler Olson; sister, Sharon Zahn, brother, Richard Toftness and host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Sylvia Toftness.
