Earl B. Couch, 78, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007, at his home after a valiant fight with brain cancer.
Memorial services will be in Ventura, Calif., on May 5.
Earl was born on Nov. 26, 1928, to Lena and Earl J. Couch in Blencoe, Iowa.
In 1953 Earl married Sally Pippett. In 1956 they moved from Iowa to California.
Earl worked in the aerospace industry for 35 years. He lived in Lancaster, Calif., from 1956 to 1979, then relocated to the San Diego area. In 1998 Earl and Sally moved to Camarillo to be closer to his family. In 2004 they moved to Prescott.
Earl enjoyed camping, water skiing, his 1949 Hudson, card games, a good practical joke and his family.
He is survived by Sally, his wife of 54 years; two daughters, Debi Matlock and Julie Walker; two sons-in-law, Jim. Matlock and Dan Walker; three grandchildren, Geoff and Alison Matlock and Jonathan Walker; and his sister, Cora Jean Hesse of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Granite Mountain Hospice, 3107 Clearwater Drive, Prescott, AZ 86305.
