FAY EVA BLADES

Fay Eva Blades, 96, of Onawa, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 18, 1987, in Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa after a long illness.

She was born June 9, 1891, at Peoria, Illinois, to Richard and Alvine (Bister) Ohmann. On October 11, 1911, she married Clyde Blades at Denison. He died October 30, 1973, at Sioux City. She had been a practical nurse in Onawa until her retirement in 1960. She had been a resident of Onawa for more than 40 years. She accepted the Lord in 1954.

Survivors include: 4 sons, Wayne and Everett, both of Sioux City, Byron of Denver, Colo. and Larry of Macy, Nebr.; two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Lila) Paulsen of Council Bluffs, Ia. and LaMaine Boutin of Sanford, Maine; grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters; 4 brothers; and 4 daughters, Helen, Berniece, Violet and Lavina.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 1987, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Loran Skow and Dan Henry officiating. The organist was Mrs. Dick Coffman and the vocalists, Richard and Lorraine Behrend and Fred Henry, sang “I Need Thee Every Hour” and “Only Remembered”.

Casket bearers were Jesse Guerra, Randy Blades, Chris Blades, Rick Paulsen, William Henry and Oran Skow.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
