FRANCES EILEEN (KELLEY) HUFF

Frances Eileen (Kelley) Huff, 71, Whiting, Iowa, formerly of Council bluffs, Iowa, died Saturday, November 7, 1987, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa, after a brief illness.

She was born October 11, 1916, at Blencoe, Iowa, to Harry and Mary (Whiteman) Kelley. She was raised at Blencoe and graduated from Blencoe High School in 1936. She was employed by Agricultural Adjustment Association (AAA) at Onawa as Secretary from 1936 to 1941. On September 15, 1941, she married James F. Huff at Norfolk, Nebraska. The couple farmed near Castana for 20 years before moving to Council Bluffs. She had been a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home at Whiting since September of this year.

She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: her husband; two sons, Larry Huff of Sioux City and Leslie Huff of Council Bluffs; one daughter, Linda Myers of Council Bluffs; three grandchildren, Carrie Huff of Dallas, Texas, Laurie Johnson of Sioux City and Raymond Myer of Council Bluffs; two great grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Danforth of Omaha, Nebr. and Mrs. Pat Rowe of Whiting; three brothers, Gene Kelley and Bill Kelley, both of Onawa and Rex Kelley of Whiting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kelley, three brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 1987, in the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Jack Jordan, the organist, played the selections “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art”.

Bearers were Mitch Gibler, Matt Gibler, Stan Gibler, John Kelley, Jim Kelley and Mike Kelley.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Blencoe with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
