MARCYNE A. MEISCH

Marcyne A. Meisch, 69, of Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, died Thursday, November 5, 1987, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa following a long illness.

She was born March 16, 1918, at Clay Center, Kansas, to Clarence and Frieda M. (Cook) Sterrett. On August 22, 1936, she married Arthur N. Meisch at Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Sioux City until moving to Miami, Florida, in 1958. They returned to Sioux City in 1962, and moved to Onawa in 1973. Mr. Meisch died January 24, 1974, in Sioux City.

Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Michele) DeKok of Onawa, Mrs. Larry (Mary) Torrey of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Ardeth Lollar of New Orleans, La.; one son, Arthur S. Meisch of Slidell, La.; one sister, Florence Rasmussen of Onawa; one brother, Clair of Sunnyside, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 1987, in the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating. The organist, Mrs. Vince Phillips, accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Fred Gibson, in the selections “One Day At A Time” and “In the Garden”.

Bearers were Rick Parsons, Jim Parsons, Larry Torrey, Jr., Nick Stowe, Brad Meisch and Mark Hahn.

Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Meisch’s name with the American Lung Association.
