JESSIE LAYTON

Jessie Layton, 88, died at a Logan Care Center, October 15, 1987.

Jessie was born August 30, 1899, in Mondamin, Iowa. She married Levert Layton, February 9, 1916, in Onawa, Iowa. They farmed in this area until moving to Little Sioux, 48 years ago. Mr. Layton died in 1965.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Little Sioux.

Survivors include one son, Donald Layton of River Sioux; five daughters, Fleta Peterson of Mondamin, Annie Hussing of River Sioux, Darlene Bruling of Elmwood, Nebr., Deloris Grandgenett of Custer Park, Ill., and Lois McCracken of Onawa; two sisters, Mary Conyers of Onawa and Helen Brown of Mondamin; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 21 great great grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, October 19th, at the Church of Christ in Little Sioux. The Rev. James Stark and Rev. Jerry Quandt officiated. Burial was at the Little Sioux Cemetery under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.
