WADE A. COOPER

Wade A. Cooper, 74, of Ute, Iowa, died Sunday, September 13, 1987, in a Sioux City hospital.

Mr. Cooper was born September 12, 1913, in Castana, Ia. He moved with his parents to Soldier.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1958, the family moved to Ute where he was a self-employed carpenter.

Mr. Cooper was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Lutheran Layman’s League, serving as treasurer. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and Forty & Eight Veterans Organization.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Cooper, of Ute; two brothers, Glen of Tea, S.D. and Leo of Odebolt; and four sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Leona) Johnson of Ute, Mrs. John (Edith) Johnson of Hawesville, Ky., Mrs. Richard (Norma) Larsen of Omaha and Mrs. Donna Saxen of Stockton, Calif.

Services were held Thursday, September 17, 1987, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute. The Rev. Robert Leege officiated. Burial was in Jordan Cemetery in Soldier with military graveside rites conducted by Aaby Post 442, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5605, both of Ute, with arrangements by the Walter Funeral Home in Ute, Iowa.
