HAROLD E. JOHNSON

Harold Elmer Johnson, rural Sloan, Iowa, died on May 31, 1987, in Pleasant View Nursing Home in Whiting. Death came at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 29 days.

He was born April 2, 1907, near Sloan. His parents were Herman Carl Johnson and Grace Evans Johnson. He was a lifelong area farmer.

Harold was a member of the United Congregational Church at Sloan.

Survivors include three brothers, Minor Johnson, Missouri Valley, Ia., Frank Johnson, Sloan, Ia. and Clarence Johnson of Whiting, Ia.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frederick.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 1987, with Rev. Arthur G. Hermanson officiating. Mrs. Glen Miltenberger, the organist, played “Ivory Palaces” and “How Great Thou Art”.

Bearers were Harold Dean, Arthur Drossel, Wayne Copple, Jim Goodwin, Clyde Johnson and Roland Goodwin.

Interment was in Graceland Park Cemetery at Sioux City, Iowa, with arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, Sloan.
