MARJORIE A. HEINLE

Marjorie Ailene Heinle, 82, Sloan, Iowa, died on Monday, April 6, 1987, in the Boswell Hospital in Sun city, Arizona, following a brief illness.

She was born at Waterloo, Iowa, on June 3, 1904, the daughter of Charles and Nell (Iverson) Rottke. She came to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, with her parents as a child. She graduated from the Sergeant Bluff High School. She received her teaching certificate from Morningside College and taught school in the Salix and Sloan schools.

On June 12, 1929, she was married to Everett Heinle at Sergeant Bluff. The couple made their home in the Sloan area for the last 58 years. She was a member of the United Congregational Church of Christ and was a 50 year member of Athena Chapter #460 Order of Eastern Star, both of Sloan.

Marjorie was one to always be interested in a variety of activities. She enjoyed gardening and raising violets, painting and playing bridge.

Survivors include her husband, Everett, of Sloan; a son, Robert of Glendale, Ariz.; and a grandson, Todd. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lois “Sugar” Heinle on May 16, 1985.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 1987, at the United Congregational Church of Christ at Sloan with Rev. Arthur G. Hermanson officiating. Mrs. Glen Miltenberger, the organist played “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross”.

Bearers were Ray Heinle, Harold Heinle, Carleton Carlson, Gale Polly, Orville Miltenberger and Donald Lander.

Interment was in the Sloan Cemetery with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
