MARIE M. DUNLOP

Marie M. Dunlop, 76, Sioux City, Iowa, died April 1, 1987, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

She was born June 7, 1910, at Charter Oak, Iowa, to Karl and Emma (Lipsky) Schreiber. She attended the Charter Oak Schools. On October 14, 1944, she married John Daniel Dunlop at Yankton, South Dakota. They made their home on a farm north of Moorhead. Mr. Dunlop died January 20, 1972, rural Moorhead and she then moved to Sioux City.

She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the Women’s Circle of the church at Moorhead.

Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. James (Peggy) West of Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. Irv (Marlene) Helsley of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Jim (Gloria) O’Hara of Corona Del Mar, Calif.; and Mrs. John (Carole) Sandman of Albuquerque, N. M.; one son, Larry Aronson of Sioux City; two brothers, Carol of Ricketts, Ia.; and Herman of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Martha Seils of Denison, Ia.; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, two brothers and two granddaughters, Marina Lynne and Karole Marie.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 1987, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Paul Birkedal officiating. Mrs. Connie Anderson, the organist, accompanied Steven Johnson, soloist, in the selection, “Amazing Grace”.

Bearers were Robert Dunlop, William Dunlop, Matt Aronson, Robert Schreiber, Loren Seils and Irv Helsley.

Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
