MOORHEAD, Iowa | Glen R. Andrews, 75, of Moorhead died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, in Fort Myers, Fla.

Memorial visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon, Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at the Moorhead Community Building.

Glen Richard Andrews was born on Feb. 24, 1938, in Moorhead, the son of Richard "Richie" and Mildred (Melby) Andrews. He grew up in the Moorhead area and graduated from Moorhead High School.

Glen and Emogene Isom were united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1961, in Randolph, Neb. To this union three children were born, Jeff, Julie and Cindy. Glen worked construction for a short time before being inducted into the U.S. Army on Aug. 16, 1961, and was stationed at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. He was honorably discharged on Aug. 15, 1963. Glen worked for the Monona County Soil Conservation Service, where he designed terraces for farmers.

Glen had a great sense of humor and loved traveling, gardening, and the local farmer’s coffee club.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Emogene Andrews of Moorhead; son, Jeff (Suzy) Andrews of Sioux City; two daughters, Julie Mantz of Omaha, and Cindy (P.J.) Obrecht of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Nick Mantz, Jonah Obrecht, and Lucas Obrecht; brothers, Bernard Andrews of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Bob Andrews of Moorhead, and Darrell (Bev) Andrews of Moorhead; sisters, Janice Massie of Council Bluffs, Carol Michael of Council Bluffs, and Dorothy (Lyle) Babe of Oklahoma City, Okla.; several nieces, and nephews; many cousins; other relatives; and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, "Richie" and Mildred; and brother, Howard Andrews
