FARMER NEAR UTE DIES HERE; RITES HELD AT MAPLETON

Ute, Ia.—Special: J. E. Barr, 49, a well known farmer residing north of Ute, died early Wednesday in a Sioux City hospital following a long illness. Mr. Barr was born in Castana and lived all his life in this vicinity.

Survivors are the widow, two sons, Pvt. Darrell Barr, in the European theater of war, and Veryl, at home; a daughter, Beryl at home, an adopted son, Essie Stanley of Danbury; a nephew, Everett Barr, whom they had reared, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Mapleton Friday, Rev. George Osborn officiating. Interment was in St. Clair cemetery at Ute.
