Miss Hulda Moen, 82, Nurse at Onawa Many Years, Dies

Onawa, Ia—Special; Miss Hulda L. Moen, 82, resident of Onawa for 75 years after coming here directly from Norway and who served Onawa and Monona County many years as a practical nurse, was found dead in her home Wednesday.

Miss Moen, known throughout this area as Aunt Hulda, worked with early day doctors in caring for the sick. She died in her sleep. Miss Moen had lived in the same block all her 75 years in Onawa.

She was the last living charter member of the Trinity Lutheran church here.

Surviving are two half-brothers, Ole Moen of Onawa, and Oscar Moen of Wannamingo, Minn.; three nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. Nelson Preus officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery under the direction of the Pearson funeral Home.
