HOWARD GUY MACKEY

Howard Guy Mackey, 67, passed away January 23, 1987, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born January 6, 1920 in Kellerton, Iowa, to Grover Guy and Ola Mildred Duffield Mackey.

He married Ruby Mae Hill on September 8, 1953, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a High Priest in the LDS Church, was Scoutmaster and held many other positions. He also served in the United States Air Force, having served duty in European, African and Middle East Theatre. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and F & AM. Was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, American Legion; National Sheriff and Utah Peace Officers Associations. His favorite hobby was fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby; one son, Owen Howard, South Salt Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Eloise) Timms, Kearns; Mrs. Robin (Ola) Miley, Big Piney, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Melissa, Amber, Shane, Jaime, Malinda and Clayton all of Salt Lake Valley; four sisters, Mrs. Lyle (Doris) Cockerton, Mrs. Roscoe (Dorothy) Dutton, Mrs. Ralph (Alberta) Maher, all of Onawa, Ia.; Mrs. Frank (Roberta) Funkhouser, Lucerne, Calif.; and one brother, Robert Mackey, Millbrae, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Hollis Mackey.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 26, 1987, at 12:00 noon at Ivins Ward, 1860 South 300 East.
