VIOLA EDNA CROM

Viola Edna Crom, 75, Blencoe, Iowa, died December 31, 1986, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

She was born November 13, 1911, at Blencoe, Iowa, to Elton and Priscilla (Chapman) Richardson. On November 13, 1941, she married Carl Crom at Omaha, Nebraska. The couple lived in Pierson and Sioux City before moving to Blencoe in 1945 where they operated Crom’s Café. Mr. Crom died February 26, 1969, in Onawa. She most recently had been employed at Happy Chef Restaurant in Onawa, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include one son, Charles of Blencoe; four daughters, Mrs. Willard (Jean) Ping of Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. Earl (Priscilla) Frisk of Mondamin; Mrs. Marilyn Moore of Ontario, Calif.; and Mrs. Wendall (Karen) Moore of Richmond, Kentucky; one sister, Hazel Harris of Portland, Ore.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 1987, at the United Church of Christ Congregational, Blencoe, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Stoll officiating. The organist, Mrs. Gene Carlson, played “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Precious Lord Take My Hand”.

Honorary bearers were Ron Cutler, Stan Jirovsky, Edwin Tank, Bruce Brown, Newell Keele, Ralph Lindley and Donald Kuehl.

Active casket bearers were Marvin Keele, Richard Ping, Irvin Frisk, Bill Chapman, John Comfort and Hugh Gray.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
