21 August 2008James M. Hoffman, 34, Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Onawa, Iowa, died suddenly at his residence Monday, August 11, 2008.
James Matthew Hoffman was born December 28, 1973 at Onawa, Iowa, the son of Ronald J. and Sandra (Buchberger) Hoffman. He was raised in Onawa and graduated from West Monona High School in 1992. He had been working at a convenience store in Omaha, Nebraska the last 14 years.
Jim was a member of First Christian Church. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and Green Bay Packers fan, but most important to him was time spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Sandra; a sister, Mary Hoffman; a nephew, Reinrick Hoffman; a niece, Rainn Hoffman all of Onawa and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was, preceded in death by his father, Ronald J. Hoffman and his grandparents, Marian and Charles, Buchberger and Dorothy and Clarence Hoffman.
Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008 at First Christian Church at Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Todd Owen and Pastor Don Collison officiating. Burial was in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service at Onawa.
Honorary bearers were Brett Spaulding, Ian Adkins, Kyle Tank, Troy Christiansen, Bob Hans, Justin Hans, Bill Funkhouser and Austin Spaulding.
