11 August 2006CASTANA, Iowa -- Lola Faye Wood, 74, of Castana passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, Iowa, with the Rev. Bob Fritzmeier officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa.
Lola Faye Wood was born April 29, 1932, in Homer, Neb., to Corrine Lane. She was united in marriage to Glen O. Wood on Feb. 19, 1948, in South Sioux City. Glen passed away May 29, 2002 after enjoying 54 blessed years of marriage together.
She was very fond of spending time with her grandchildren, caring for her pets, gardening, fishing and bowling. The couple enjoyed their weekend camping trips, spending much time in the Black Hills and at the campground they had arranged on their farm.
Those left to cherish her memory include her grandsons, Josh of Mapleton, Iowa, and Jody of Ute, Iowa; four children, Jim and his wife, Brenda of Holly Springs, Iowa, Michael and his wife, Betty of Mapleton, Iowa, Pam and Mike of Ute, Iowa, and Tammy and her husband, Troy of New Jersey; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives; and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; and her mother, Corrine.
