Racy Zediker Dies After Brief Illness

Racy John Zediker, son of Ambrose and Ida Mae Heisler was born on March 22, 1890 in Cooper Twp. near Mapleton, Iowa. He died on Friday, December 19, 1975 at a Sioux City hospital of a brief illness at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 27 days.

He was a lifelong resident of the Mapleton area and lived with his parents on a farm until marriage. He was married to Lillian Muckey on January 21, 1913 at Sioux City, Iowa. Six daughters and four sons were born to this union. He and his wife farmed in the Mapleton area until they retired in I960 and moved into the town of Mapleton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two daughters, and one son, two sisters, and three brothers.

Survivors include four daughters Mrs. Paul (Caryl) Smith of Onawa, Iowa, Mrs. Leonard (Shirley) Koenigs and Mrs. Ross (Delberta) Hart, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Chris (Harriett) Nielsen of Battle Creek, Iowa, three sons: Maurice, John and James all of Mapleton, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Clarissa Smith of Odebolt,
Iowa.

Services were held Tuesday, December 23, 1975 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Methodist Church, Mapleton, Iowa with the Rev. John Hall officiating. Burial was in the Heisler Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa. Casket bearers were his grandsons.
