Death of Mrs. Nelson Willsey

Mrs. Nelson A Willsey died Thursday morning at her home in White Lake, South Dakota. The remains were brought to this place arriving Saturday evening. The funeral took place Sunday from the Mapleton M. E. Church, Rev. Ladd having charge.

Margaret Muckey was born in Wakeshaw, Wis. Nov 29, 1853. With her parents she came to Monona County and settled near Mapleton where she grew to womanhood. Oct 10, 1869 she was united in marriage to Nelson A Willsey. To this union were born fourteen children, seven of whom died in infancy. The following are the seven surviving William Joseph Willsey, Mrs. Millie May Willsey Currency, Mrs. Minnie Pearl Willsey Branum, Mrs. Harriett Edna Willsey Gillette, John Jacob Willsey and Clarissa Blanche Willsey. All live near White Lake. S. D. except William who lives at Oakton, S. D., and Millie at Kimball, S. D.

The family lived for many years at "Old Mapleton." on the farm now owned by Peter Lamp, but left several years ago for a home near Anthon, Iowa, and later to White Lake, South Dakota.

Mrs. Willsey Joined the Methodist church at Anthon sixteen years ago and has remained a faithful member since, being a member of the Kimball, S. D. M E. church the time of her death. She was a loving wife and kind and indulgent mother, ever ready to go to the beck and call of her children.

Besides the surviving husband and children she leaves an aged mother, two sisters, four brothers, twelve grand children and a host of relatives and friends who mourn her departure.
