Mrs. Richards Funeral Sunday
Resident Here For Half Century Is Claimed By
Pneumonia Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Celia Powell Richards, who died Saturday in her home here following a brief illness of pneumonia, were held Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church with Rev. C. H. Van Metro, pastor of the church, officiating.

Interment was in Heisler cemetery under the direction of the Byers Funeral Home. Members of the Woodman Circle were in charge of services at the grave.

Celia Powell was born in Wayne County, Ill., January 31, 1870, and would have been 63 years of age her next birthday. She moved with her family when a girl of ten- to Danbury where they lived a few years prior to their coming to Mapleton nearly 50 years ago.

She was married in September, 1888, to Alton Richards, who preceded her in death 12 years ago. A number of years ago she joined the Baptist church in which she was a faithful member. She was a member of the Rebekah and Woodman Circle lodges.

Mrs. Richards is survived by three children, Mrs. Buoy Mape and Mrs. Florence Anderson, both of Sioux City, and Roy Richards of Mapleton. Two children preceded her in death. She also leaves two sisters. Mrs. Alice Ash of Sioux City and Mrs. Edith Etchison of Mapleton and two brothers, Squire Powell of Sioux City and Arthur Powell of Mapleton..
