Zella Winifred Pauley, the four year old child who so suddenly passed away at her home five miles west of Mapleton on Tuesday, Oct 18, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Pauley. The child was seemingly in good health until the morning of her death she seemed to have a little cough, she was out playing in the yard with a younger brother and sister and became strangled and death was almost instant,

A doctor was called and everything possible was done but seemed as though nothing proved successful. The little child is sadly missed by her family as she was a very brilliant child and was a favorite among her brothers and sisters.

Many relatives from Sac City and also from Onawa attended the funeral which was held at the family home and conducted by Rev. W. S. Handy, and interment being made in the Heisler Cemetery.
