Emma Marie Passick, daughter of Wilhelm and Anna Schneekloth, was born September 28, 1882, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She died Wednesday, October 30, 1968, at a Sioux City, Iowa, hospital, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 2 days.

Mrs. Passick came to the United States at the age of nine years with her parents and settled in Monona County east of Mapleton.

She married John Passick in Soldier Township, Crawford County, Iowa, April 1, 1908. One daughter was born to this union. She and her husband farmed before they moved into the town of Mapleton. Mr. Passick died in 1961.

Mrs. Passick was a charter member of the United Church of Christ of Mapleton and a lifetime member of the Women's Fellowship. She was baptized and confirmed during her infancy.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 1968, at the United Church of Christ in Mapleton. Rev. Henry Held officiated. Interment was in Heisler cemetery at Mapleton.

Pallbearers were: Arthur Gosch, Henry Kluver, Lewis Kuehl, Harold Schneekloth, Herman Schneekloth and H. D. Passick.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Bonita) Mohr of Mapleton; two sisters, Miss Ann Schneekloth and Mrs. Al (Aleonine) Christiansen, both of Mapleton; one granddaughter, Mrs. Horace (Theon) Goza, at Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.
