Teresa Ann Diimig died April 21 in Battle Creek at the age of 82 years, 2 months, 18 days. She was born Feb. 3, 1930, on a farm near Mapleton, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Flammang) Jacoby. She grew up in the Mapleton area and graduated from high school there.

On Nov. 21, 1950, Teresa was united in marriage to Robert Diimig, the son of Joseph and Gertrude Diimig, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton. The couple then moved to the Diimig Family Farm, a farm that has been in the Diimig family now for 132 years, a Century Farm. It was there that she and Bob lovingly raised their four children.

She was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury as well as St. Mary’s Rosary Society. Teresa enjoyed time spent gardening, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, bowling, ballroom dancing, and going to craft shows with her daughter. Above all she loved spoiling her grand kids and great grand kids. Every year the week before school started she and Bob would invite the grand kids to stay with them on the farm for that great end of summer fun time with grandma and grandpa.

Those survivors left to pass on her love are Bob, her loving dedicated husband of 61 years; her four children, Gary Diimig of Danbury, Patricia (Brian) Shever of Battle Creek, Jim Diimig of Ida Grove, and Linda (Johnnie) Johnson of Cushing; she was the proud grandma of five grandkids, Kenneth (Kelly) Shever of Correctionville, Juston (Tami) Shever of Battle Creek, Ashley (Duston) Schlenger and Tonya Johnson all of Cushing, and Terry Diimig of Mapleton; equally proud grandma of eight great-grandkids, Krayton, Konnor, and Karlee Shever of Correctionville, Tyler Diimig of Sioux City, Ember and Ayden Schlenger of Cushing, and Ethan and Addison Shever of Battle Creek; one sister, Isabell Steele of Ida Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
