Final Rites Tuesday For Alfred Merritt At Christian Church

Funeral services were held here Tuesday for Alfred Hills Merritt, 77, a resident of this community for 24 years. He died Saturday at a Cherokee hospital after a lengthy Illness.

Services were held at the Christian church at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Heisler cemetery with Byers- Walter funeral home in charge.

Mr. Merritt was born April I8, 1875, at Spencer in which vicinity he lived until 1928 when he moved to Mapleton. He was married Christmas Day, 1929, to Laura Kenney.

Sole survivor is the widow. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
