Mrs. Maynard Buried Sunday

Resident in the Castana Community for 70 Years Buried Near Mapleton

Funeral services for Elizabeth Leibolt Maynard, 82, years old, resident of the Castana community for nearly three quarters of a century were held Sunday afternoon in the Castana Community church with Rev. Everett E. Epperson pastor of the First Christian church in Onawa, in charge.

Burial was in Heisler cemetery in Mapleton under direction of the Byers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maynard was born Germany December 25, 1863 and came to United States with her parents. In 1869, settling in Pennsylvania at the age of 12 she came to Castana community, moving into Castana 25 years ago. She died in her home there Friday. She was a member of the Christian church at Castana.

Surviving are a son, John Maynard of Smithland, 4 daughters, Mrs. Ida Smith and Mrs. Nora Barber of Castana, Mrs. Carrie Schoening of Oto and Mrs. Nellie Lee of Charter Oak, 2 brothers, John and Joe Leibolt of Castana.
