Alberta Katrine Marsh, 60, of Mapleton, Iowa, died Sunday, April 28, 1985, at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa, after a long illness.

Services were held on Wednesday, May 1, 1985, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Mapleton, Iowa at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Richard Hempenius officiating. Mrs. Evelyn Perrin was the organist, with the congregation singing "One Day at a Time" and "Amazing Grace". Burial was in the Heisler Cemetery in Mapleton, Iowa, under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home of Mapleton, Iowa.

Mrs. Marsh, the former Alberta Christiansen, was born December 15, 1924, to Albert W. and Alwine (Schneekloth) Christiansen at Ute, Iowa. She graduated from Mapleton Public High School in 1942.

She married Floyd Marsh August 24, 1945, in Mapleton. She was a lifelong Mapleton resident, except for a brief time when they farmed near Moorhead, Iowa. The couple moved into Mapleton, Iowa, in 1981. Alberta was employed by the Monona County Rationing Board, Scheming Ford Implement Company, Mapleton Press, and for the last thirteen years, she was a teller at the First State Bank in Mapleton, Iowa.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship of the church, past member of the Church Council and taught Sunday school for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd; one daughter, Mrs. James (Marlys) Engle of Early; two sons, Glenn and Gregg, both of Mapleton, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Alvera) Gosch of Battle Creek, Iowa, and two grandsons.

Pallbearers were Herluf Kafton, Carl Miller, Herman Bockelman, Ed Clausen, Paul Koenigs, and Dale Campbell. Susan
