24 November 1994Mary Lou Leisinger, age 62, of Moville. Iowa and formerly of Mapleton died Monday, November 14, 1994, at her home after a one year illness.
Services were held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Moville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Orrin T. Potter officiating. Burial and graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. at Heisler Cemetery. Mapleton, Iowa. A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.
Mary Lou was born December 15, 1931 to Albert F. and Wanna (Ash) Reitz in Mapleton. She attended schools in Mapleton and lived there until 1967. She then moved to Chamberlain, South Dakota and then to Moville in 1970. She married Vernon "Pete" Leisinger May 15, 1950 in Onawa, Iowa. She worked as a waitress in several restaurants. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crafts and square dancing.
She was a member of the Moville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Moville and Mapleton Legion Auxiliary, was a member and past president of the Kingsley Swingers, Cherokee Plus Club and Moville Birthday Club.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon "Pete" Leisinger of Moville: two sons, Dave Leisinger of Sioux City and Cary and his wife, Lisa of Lisbon, Iowa: one daughter and her husband, Deb and Craig Sitzmann of Moville; four grandchildren, Joshua and Elizabeth Sitzmann and Zachery and Shelby Leisinger; two sisters, Wilma and her husband, Tom Bernhardt of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Joyce and her husband , Tom Boston of Loveland, Colorado; three brothers, Albert E. and his wife, Mary Reitz of Kansas City, Missouri, Dick and his wife, Donna Reitz of Onawa and Don and his wife, Carolyn Reitz of Danbury; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Lewis and Grace Leisinger: two daughters, Patricia and Pamela; one nephew and one brother-in-law.
