Mrs. George Dean, Sr. Buried

Mrs. George Dean, Sr., mother of George Dean of northeast of town was buried last Friday afternoon in the Heisler cemetery Mrs. Dean's' death occurred Tuesday afternoon, October 29th on her eighty-fourth birthday. Death was due to the ills incident to age and complications. The funeral services were private and were conducted by the Reverend William S. Handy of St. John's M E. church.

Mrs. Dean whose maiden name was Mary E. Wilson was born October 29th
1834, at Watertown, N.Y... At the age of nine she was brot by her parents to Illinois where the family lived and where she grew to womanhood. In December 1857 she was married to George Dean and to this happy union were born eight children, 5 of whom are living. In 1869 the family moved to Iowa and in 1881 she was left widow by Mr. Dean's death. The live children living are George of Mapleton, Charles of Usona, Alberta, Canada, Mrs. Sadie E. Cone of Chugwater, Wyo., Mrs. Addle E. Wilson of Dallas, Ore., Mrs. Anna M. Reed, Portland, Ore. In addition there are two sisters, Mrs., Elmira Williams, Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. James Hitchcox, Pipestone, Minn. Her long life as men call time, filled as it was with loving service, has closed her longer life has begun. One of the old settlers she has left her mark on the community
