Funeral Services Held for Serelda Barber Jan. 15

Serelda Norene Barber, daughter of Henry and Clella (Kenney) Luke, was born February 24, 1918 at Mapleton, Iowa and died Friday, January 10, 1975 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She had reached the age of 56 years, 10 months and 16 days.

On June 3, 1937 she was married to Delno Barber at Mapleton. She made her home in Mapleton until 1939 when she was forced by illness to live in nursing homes and hospitals. She was a member of the Christian church.

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Deanna) Best of Valley, Nebraska and Mrs. Malcolm (Doris) Noyes of Denison, Iowa; her mother, Mrs. Clella Luke of Mapleton; one sister, Mrs. Alfred (Henrietta) Saxen of Cody, Wyoming; one brother, Robert Luke of Quincy, Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January IS, 1975 at 1:30 p.m. at the Walter Chapel in Mapleton. Rev. J . R. Earsom officiated and burial was in the Heisler Cemetery at Mapleton.

Pallbearers were: Douglas Hinrickson, George Castle, Dick Knutsen, Clifford LeFebvre, Merle Davis and Ronald Seibold.
