Services Held For Lawrence Babbe

Lawrence Frederick Babbe, the son of John and Margaret (Kuhl) Babbe was born on November 10, 1906 near Danbury, Iowa in Woodbury County.

Lawrence died on March 1, 1978 at the Mapleton Nursing Home having attained the age of 71 years, 3 months, and 21 days.

Lawrence grew up in the Danbury community where he later farmed. The last 2 years Lawrence has been making home with his sister, Dorothy, in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Services were held Saturday, March 4, 1978 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Louis Aitken officiating at Walter Chapel. Burial was in Heisler Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa.

Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Wacker of Ida Grove, Iowa; one brother, Arnold of Mapleton; one niece, Mrs. Everett (Helen) Durston of Battle Creek, Iowa; and one nephew, Gilbert Babbe of Mapleton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
