Miron Arthur Anderson, son of Charles and Mary Anderson, was born September 25, 1913 at Onawa, Iowa. He spent his entire life in the Mapleton community, except for the years from 1942 until 1945 when he was in the Army. He served in the European theater where he received the Bronze Star medal for bravery and the Purple Heart for wounds received in action.

He was married to Delores Pauley on March 11, 1947 at Onawa.

He was a member of the American Legion, Loran Hollister Post 496 of Mapleton.

Mr. Anderson died at his home on December 29, 1968 after a lengthy illness. He had reached the age of 53 years, three months and four days.

Survivors include the widow; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Lloyd of Rodney, Mrs. Bill (Hazel) Morris of Eugene, Oregon and Mrs. John (Marvel) Junk of Coleridge, Nebraska; five brothers, Carl of Mapleton, Gerald of Mapleton, Johnny of Beaver Creek, Oregon, Jessie of Lawn Dale, California and Louis of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 31, 1968 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walter Chapel. Rev. Keith Hair officiated.

Pallbearers were Fred Kuhlman, Phil McAndrews, Harlan Theobald, Lester Castle, Clarence O'Connor and Ralph Wickersham, Jr. Burial was at the Heisler Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Loren Hollister Post No. 496 of Mapleton.
