July 27, 2012Tracy M. Brenden, 40, of Whiting passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from injuries suffered in a farm accident.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, U.C.C. at Whiting, with the Rev. Reva Karstens officiating. Burial will follow in Whiting City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Tracy Maurice was born July 4, 1972, in Sioux City and raised in the Whiting area by his parents, Michael "Mike" and Suzanne (Loving) Brenden. He graduated from Whiting High School in 1991, then went on to study mechanics at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.
Tracy was a man of many trades and worked in various fields. He worked at Sears, Ben Fish, and construction with Schrier Larson before working for Communications Services building towers in North and South America. He then returned to the area, where he worked at Peterson Feed Lot and was currently farming with his father near Whiting.
Tracy was a member of First Congregational Church, U.C.C. at Whiting, the Weston Lodge 562, Whiting, Sons of the American Legion and the Loess Hills Saddle Club. He was a volunteer for the past several years at the Whiting Rodeo Association.
Tracy greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, farming and playing with all children. He truly lived his life to the fullest.
Tracy is survived by his parents, Michael “Mike” and Suzanne Brenden of Whiting; his sister, Christy (Mat) Goodvin of Sloan, Iowa; his brother, Jason Brenden of Vermillion, S.D.; his niece and nephew, Kayla Brenden and Justin Goodvin; his grandmothers, Marvel Brenden of Whiting and Norma Loving of Albert City, Iowa; his aunts, uncles, and their families, Rick (Sue) Brenden of Sloan, Bob (Mavis) Loving of Albert City, and Dave (Barb) West of Clive, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Maurice Brenden and Jerome Loving; his sister, Sarah Brenden; his brother, Michael Bert Brenden; and his nephew, Garret Goodvin.
