Scott Michael (Johnson) Poole, 39, of Onawa died unexpectedly on Jan. 11, 2012 at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Onawa. Burial of the cremains will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Scott Michael (Johnson) Poole, son of Geri (Raymond) Johnson and Duane Poole, was born July 29, 1972 at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Neb. He was raised in Onawa and attended West Monona Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 1990.

After graduation, Scott enlisted in the U.S. Army. Scott served during Desert Storm and was stationed in Kuwait 11 months before being honorably discharged in 1993. He then returned to Iowa and made his home in Sioux City. Scott worked from 1993 to 2000 with Iseman Homes as a sales associate. He was one of their top associates and was transferred to Chillicothe, Mo. for a short time. Scott moved back to Onawa and worked different jobs and most recently was a sales associate for Energy Doctor.

On Oct. 2, 1999, Scott was united in marriage to Hydie Lester in Onawa, and they later divorced.

Scott was a sports fanatic and avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, boating, golfing and eating spicy foods.

Scott is survived by his children, Dylan Rowland of Onawa, Sadie Poole of Onawa, and Hayden Poole of Missouri Valley, Iowa; parents, Geri and husband Carl Johnson of Onawa, and Duane and wife Rita Poole of Onawa; maternal grandmother, Lolly Raymond of Little Sioux, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Poole of Onawa; four sisters, Kerrie and husband Don Martin of Vanleer, Tenn., Kimberly and husband Jason Lawrence of Sioux City, Pauline Poole of Onawa, and Laura and husband Danny McComas of Branchland, W.V.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Raymond; paternal grandfather, Bud Poole; and one aunt, Frankie Torticill.
