Edna K. Angove, 79, of Onawa departed this life on June 2, 2012 at her residence at Center Heights.

A memorial of her beautiful life will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rush Family Care service in Onawa, with Pastor Dale Smith officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery, rural Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Edna Kathryn was born on Dec. 15, 1932, in Soldier, Iowa, the daughter of Darrell and Alice (Wagner) Amundson. She attended Soldier High School and upon graduation attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa.

Edna and Vernon John Angove were united in marriage on Oct. 18, 1953, in Sioux City. They farmed, raised two children, served their church, and made lifelong friends in Monona County, Iowa and the surrounding area.

Edna’s children were her pride and joy. She was interested in politics, had a tongue-in-cheek humor, and was an early adopter to the internet (it was her window to the world). She was a student of the Bible, loved water aerobic exercise, and played cards with friends each evening. She was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church (formerly known as The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).

Edna is survived by her husband, Vern Angove of Onawa; a son, Charles Angove of Newbury, Ohio; a daughter, Vickie Thoreson of Turin; two grandchildren, Adam and Nathan Thoreson; three great-grandchildren, Kate, Melissa, and Andy Thoreson; two sisters, Alice Buckley and Carol (Armando) Ramos, both of Ventura, Calif.; and one brother, Warren (Ulrika) Anderson of Nora Springs, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, D. Dwayne Amundson.

Memorials may be directed to the Community of Christ Church, located at 1222 Eleventh Street, Onawa, Iowa 51040.
