Nettle Metcalf-Hewitt, daughter of Miles J and Fanny M. Metcalf was born March 6, 1868, near Estherville, Ia., and died at her home in Rodney, following a brief illness, on Wednesday, June 14, 1933, aged 65 years, 3 months and 8 days. On November 20, 1885, she was united in marriage to Henry Clark Hewitt who passed away June 10, 1907.

To this union one, Loren, was born who survives with four grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also four brothers, Charles M, Estus B., Walter P. and Edgar W., all of Hornick, besides many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The funeral was held at the Congregational church Thursday, June 15, Rev. Squires of Hornick delivered the sermon and a quartet from Hornick sang. Interment was in Grant cemetery under the management of Mr. Becker, undertaker at Hornick.
