Mrs. Hattie L. Ham, Smithland, Iowa, died on February 26, 1982, at Maple Heights Nursing Home at Mapleton, Iowa, where she had resided since June 1, 1981. She had reached the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

She was born on March 22, 1895, at Mapleton, the daughter of Samuel Bueoy and Martha Sumner Bueoy. She was married to William J. Ham at Onawa, Iowa, on March 2, 1910, and the couple made their home near Smithland. Mr. Ham died on August 17, 1945.

She is survived by three sons, William Ham of Mapleton, Wilton Ham of Smithland and Wilfred Ham of Blair, Nebraska; one daughter, Elma Petty of Jonesboro, Arkansas; 33 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six sons, Howard, Hallard, Glen, Leon Wilmar and a son who died at birth; and by two daughters, Zetta and Betty.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 1982, at the Willman Funeral Chapel, Rodney, Iowa, with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Helen Harbeck.

Casket bearers were grandsons of the deceased: Calvin Ham, Rex Petty, Gerald Stewart, Clinton Ham, Elliot Ham and Derek Ham.

Interment was in the Grant Township Cemetery, Rodney, Iowa.
