Kate N. Lynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nikolaisen was born on May 8, 1893 at Moorhead, Iowa and died on Sunday, April 25, 1976 at a Sioux City hospital after reaching the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 17 days. She married John Lynn at Rodney and to this marriage was born two sons and one daughter. In 1918 they moved to Castana. Since 1969 she has lived with her son, Lyle near Mapleton. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was a teacher for a short time.
Services were held on Wednesday, April 28, 1976 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walter Chapel in Mapleton with Robert Leiting officiating.
Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery at Oto.
Pallbearers were Samuel Hall, Maurice Jensen, EvanDavies, Samuel Mann, Lester Dobrovolny and Henry Johnson. Survivors include two sons, Gerald of Onawa and Lyle of Mapleton; one sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Ahrendt of Inwood, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bryan Nikolaisen of Mapleton and three sisters, Mrs. Olga Petersen of Turin, Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Moorhead and Mrs. Caril Frederickson of Moorhead. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
